One of the worlds finest Airport applications and indoor location app in general. The app notifies you of all flight changes, as well as provide you relevant offers. The apps also caters to users picking up passengers.
How did you find out about this company?
Initially it was recommended by a friend who worked as trainee Jr Software Engineers. After discussing with Underlabs CTO, it was immediately clear these guys knew their stuff, and kept up to date with the most recent technologies and possibilities that can be achieved via a mobile app with a decent modern device.
Did you have some documents like wireframes ready or you just had an idea when you approached this company?
All we had when we approached Underlabs, was a bullet point of feature we would like to have, their Creative Director went further by designing a smooth workflow for the user, prioritising the quick to access features with a UI & UX wireframe and the engineers with a class and relationship diagram.
How was the first few interaction with this company, did you find anything interesting in first few interactions that helped you decided on hiring this company?
We had initially our meeting face to face, however email and calls later on was the natural choice of communication. We had a portal to see all the list of features and the comments by their engineers and designers on teach task, and could be followed up by us.
How did the process look like? How often were you interacting with company representatives?
We had direct access to the creative director and the lead software engineer.
How involved were you in the whole process? How did company tackle changing requirements or budgets?
They were extreemly lenient on the changes of requirements, and the budget did not increase, expect for one feature, which was fairly large, so it was understandable. They took great care in optimizing cloud resources in order to keep the maintenance at a minimum ongoing cost which I am very grateful. When compared with other App platforms it became immediately clear the importance of going with a solid team of engineers that have long experience in these sort of mobile platforms.
In terms of timeline, how frequently were the milestones delivered? Were you happy with the timeline of the deliverables?
In this regard there was absolutely no issues. They ended milestones on date, and more importantly QAed their work. There were minor changes after the milestones, in terms of design, and have been very accommodating. Overall, I was so impressed by their work, I have even recommended them to other startups.
