DJ Stream Mobile App for Polk Audio

Polk Audio, a popular manufacturer of innovative home speaker systems, was looking to develop a mobile app. They needed a partner to be involved in the manufacturing process of their new speaker in order to develop a completely integrated experience. More than a feature, the app would become a key selling point for their new Camden Square Speaker. Their high-level goal was to create a fully functional, but totally revolutionary customer journey that would reinforce Polk’s innovative approach to audio mechanics and separate them from the competition. Mindgrub created a social jukebox app, called DJ Stream, which allows up to four DJs of a party to stream their music to Polk’s new Camden Square Speaker. This one-of-a-kind app interacts with this speaker by allowing the DJs of the party to connect with the device via bluetooth and add songs to the group playlist, share their music, and earn DJ Points. Everyone at the party can interact with the app by voting or playing their own Solo Gig. The Polk DJ Steam app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

Creative use of technology supports an innovative celebration of art and cultural diversity The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) envisioned a festival promoting the city’s enduring support of art, creativity and film. The free festival was to be called “Light City” and the vision was to transform Baltimore into a spectacular light show and entertainment arena. BOPA recognized the need to provide visitors with an enjoyable mechanism to navigate a large number of attractions and support the festival’s largest sponsor, Kaiser Permanente. Mindgrub partnered with BOPA to create an engagement strategy with mobile at the core. With Mindgrub's 2017 app, visitors could navigate the city, discover artists, and build schedules using the mobile app. Clever usage of geo-fencing around Kaiser Permanente’s art installation sent push notifications to users as they approached and entered the space. In its first year, there were approximately 17,000 app installations during the event. Attractions included 23 extensive light installations, 50 concerts, and 125 illuminated-performances. Entertaining almost a half a million visitors, Light City Baltimore is the first large-scale light and music festival in the United States.

Setting commuters at ease with real-time vehicle tracking technology Sparked by an idea from former football player Kevin Plank for a perspiration-wicking T-shirt in the mid-90s, Under Armour has grown into an international sportswear company that continues to inspire ingenuity. Under Armour’s 2016 HQ expansion plans included a 50-acre location at Port Covington in Baltimore. Providing a convenient, reliable shuttle service for employees and visitors between the Locust Point and Port Covington campuses was a high priority for Under Armour. Mindgrub delivered a sleek, intuitive app to help travelers easily navigate routes and receive arrival alerts. The app’s scalability allows for additional routes and modes of transportation as facilities at the new location continue to be built. Incorporation of Under Armour’s strict brand guidelines, production of all iconography, and utilization of the TransLoc API all went into providing this customized app. Now riders can tap the interactive map, see the shuttle schedule, and locate any vehicle in the system. All travelers need to do now is thoroughly enjoy their rides, with certainty and predictability.

After design and development, Mindgrub presented VOA with a mobile application that displayed top news from either Chinese or Russian websites, depending on the language the app is being viewed in. Mindgrub’s design team created an aesthetically appealing application that coincided with VOA’s brand identity. In addition to pulling news from various RSS feeds, the application also plays back audio and video news clips and allows users to bookmark articles and create custom playlists. The application also has an option to submit news to VOA by uploading images or videos.

ParkRE

Mindgrub integrated with the Metropolitan Regional Information Systems, a real estate database, to develop an iOS and Android mobile application that provides up to date real estate data. The app features a map of available listings with parking featured through the use of unique map pins. Using viaPlace, Google Maps, and location based services, Mindgrub created a map that pinpoints properties with off street parking. Additionally, Mindgrub utilized beacons to send users additional information when they are in close proximity of a property. If a user is interested in a property, the application provides contact information for an agent to schedule a showing or request additional information. This app is also a lead generation tool for real estate professionals. After a certain amount of usage, users are directed to a landing page asking for contact information so that they can be matched up with a professional for more information.
